Evidence-Based Therapeutic Approaches Offered at Minds in Bloom Psychology

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a commonly used therapy for treating mental health conditions. It helps you manage challenges by understanding how thoughts, feelings, and behavioural are connected.  Through CBT, you can learn to identify unhelpful patterns and replace them with healthier, more balanced ways of thinking and acting.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a technique that helps you slow down and stay grounded in the present moment. It encourages you to notice our thoughts, feelings, and surroundings, which can reduce stress and improve how you handle life’s challenges. Mindfulness is not a religious practice, but a tool for living more mindfully and with intention.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

ACT helps you live a more meaningful life by showing you how to accept what is beyond your control and focus on what is in your control. Through mindfulness and value-based actions, ACT empowers you to build resilience and commit to actions that align with your values.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a counselling approach that helps individuals strengthen and explore and their own reasons for change. It involves having a supportive conversation that encourages the person to talk about their goals, values, and what matters most to them. The aim is to build motivation and confidence by gently guiding the person to discover their own answers and take steps toward positive change.

Trauma Focused Cognitive behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) is a special type of therapy that helps children, young people, and their families cope with the effects of traumatic experiences. It combines talking about thoughts, feelings, and behaviours with gentle, supportive ways to understand and process what happened. TF-CBT helps children feel safer, learn ways to manage strong emotions, and build confidence. It also supports parents or caregivers so they can help their child heal.
